MY VASCULAR HEALTH
Volunteer, donate, make a difference
Center for Vascular Awareness is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the field of vascular medicine and intervention to prevent controllable risk factors and improve patient care through education and awareness.
Through our regional and national CME educational meetings, clinicians learn about advanced medical, endovascular, and surgical techniques, and bring this information back to their practices to improve patient outcomes. Our commitment to a collaborative and multi-disciplinary forum brings together specialists from all areas of vascular, primary, neurology, and cardiology healthcare to present balanced and scientifically valid data.
Through our vascular awareness and prevention campaign, we connect clinicians from all aspects of healthcare to work together in order to empower young adults to better understand the impact of vascular risk factors on their vascular health.
Your donation to Center for Vascular Awareness is tax-deductible and will support our ongoing endeavors in vascular education, awareness, and prevention.

Meet Susan Tartaglione, RN, CNOR!
Center for Vascular Awareness would like to thank Susan Tartaglione, RN, CNOR for her hard work and commitment as a volunteer. Susan works at Glens Falls Hospital as a nurse and CNOR Vascular Service Leader. When Sue is not at work, you can find her at GFK9, her family-owned dog boarding, training, and grooming daycare facility in Glens Falls. She also enjoys vacationing in Barbados and relaxing with her family!
What inspired you to start a career in medicine?
When I was about 12 years old, my grandfather was sick and, in the hospital, and I helped take care of him when he returned home. It made me feel special to help him feel better and I think that started my love of nursing. I enjoy making my patients feel a little more comfortable and safer in the operating room setting.
Why do you think it is important to promote vascular awareness?
So much begins with good vascular health. Prevention, early diagnosis, and intervention are key! Promoting a healthy lifestyle, making good choices for your own health, and sharing pertinent information with people is important.
What is your favorite memory from volunteering with CVA?
I’ll never forget talking to a group of students on V-Healthy Day about strokes. One of the students told us her Dad had a stroke. The other students in the group were shocked and speechless; this was such a perfect moment to teach. This student told us about how stroke affected her whole family. There is no better way to get information out that is relevant than through personal experiences.
Giving your time is just as important as giving money.
